American Standard 4 ton r-22 Heat pump installed in 2002. Unit was apparently low on freon when I arrived. High SH and Low SC and Suction and discharge psi. Unit runs txv's. I started filling system and finally stopped once SH was at 25. Indoor TD 18 degrees, less than 1 degree SC, compressor amps at 14. Suction psi was 73 and discharge psi 175. should I have charged until I received proper SC and then adjust TXV to proper SH? Thanks for the comments.
