I have a 5-month old NEW small upright freezer in garage (in Texas) and it is plugged into a GFCI outlet "in the garage". Yes, no AC in garage. I had no idea this outlet could be a problem!
The freezer ran perfect, but while away on vacation in late June/early July, the outlet "tripped". Everything was ruined. We were away about 3 weeks & no one was at home during that time.
Two electricians said it could have tripped for numerous reasons...an electrical storm, outdoor outlets on same line, etc.
Can I have outlet replaced with a single normal outlet for this freezer? This is really the only place I have for freezer.
