What more laws don't accomplish (think gun control laws as an example)
1) Law simply acknowledges that some people will do bad things.
2) The law simply allows the government to act afterwards. (after the crime)
3) The law is not preventive. (does not stop anyone from acting) I don't need a law to convince me not to kill another.
4) There is not a single thing that is outlawed that you can't get.
The only thing law prevents is keeping good people from doing what they were not going to do in the first place. So, in that respect the law does nothing. However, the law often does make "technical criminals" out of good people who never had any bad intent to begin with.
