My newly installed THUMD500 powered humidifier is leaking air form the plastic removable cover. The contractor sealed around where the humidifier meets the coil case with aluminum tape to stop air leaks from the connection. However I feel that their is a significant amount of air leaking through the cracks of the actual humidifier removable cover. I also feel air leaking from the back of the "plastic vents" that I think is used to draw in air when the humidifier is on. I never owned a house humidifier before and not sure if this is normal for them to leak air. Is it possible to temporality seal the humidifier during the summer months?
